Floorboards was formed in the winter of 2014 and consists of Sean Seal (guitar/vocals), Quinton Armstrong (guitar/vocals), Brandyn Evans (bass), and Tyler Armstrong (drums). The quartet strives for a fast-paced, high-energy sound and draws influence from heavier modern pop-punk acts such as The Story So Far, Title Fight, Such Gold, and Knuckle Puck.
The heavy-hitting nature of Floorboards' music translates well to their high-energy live show which usually leaves both band and audience members alike doused in sweat. "We try to play with a sense of desperation," says co-frontman Sean Seal. "We try to leave it all out on stage and play every show like it could be the last time we all play together."
The group played it's first show in April with the Vancouver based pop-rock trio Halfway to Hollywood before embarking on a run of shows through British Columbia and Alberta with Southern Ontario hardcore act Partycat. Upon returning home Floorboards released its debut single Trenches, before heading back out on a full-length tour of British Columbia and Alberta with fellow pop-punkers Calling All Captains. The band then released its second single Growth upon their return home, in anticipation of opening for the Langley based punk band Gob.
Floorboards released their debut EP Nothing Stays The Same on February 4th of 2015. The release features 4 dynamic tracks, and has received a number of positive reviews from numerous independent pop-culture outlets in Western Canada. Floorboards is currently working on a second EP release, scheduled for May of this year, and have extensive tour plans for the summer of 2015. This is one band you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on
